Sopwell House, St Albans

Sopwell House is a family owned hotel and spa situated 3 miles from Junction 22 of the M25 on the southern outskirts of St Albans. The Hotel has undergone continuous improvement and investment over the last 30 years. Most recently, 16 Mews Suites and the luxury Cottonmill Spa have been added.

The Mews Suites are accessed via a shared gated courtyard with plenty of outdoor seating and a hydro pool. Most of the Suites also have their own private garden with cedarwood spa bath. The main hotel houses a further 128 bedrooms.

The Brasserie serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Restaurant is open for dinner and frequently has a live pianist or guitarist to entertain guests. The excellent food truly lives up to its 2 AA Rosette rating and the whole experience benefits from very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoy a cocktail masterclass with the Cocktail Lounge Manager.

The Spa offers all guests a great place to relax. Residential guests have access to the pool, gym, steam room, sauna and spa baths free of charge. Cottonmill also offers an exclusive Members only area; The Club at Cottonmill. Access to the Club’s different relaxation zones and new spa garden is restricted to members and a small number of residents on the Club package.

The St Albans Suite is the main meeting room and can take up to 380 theatre style or 180 cabaret style. The meeting rooms all have natural daylight and many have access to their own terraces.
The hotel is set in 12 acres of countryside, with plenty of outdoor space for BBQs, team building and simply sitting.

Sopwell House has always offered guests a relaxing but luxurious place to eat, drink, meet and celebrate. With its close proximity to the M25, M1 and A1 it is easily reached by car. St Albans is only 15 minutes by fast train from St Pancras and the Hotel is 10 minutes by taxi from St Albans Station.
