At the moment you may be thinking that a Christmas 2020 celebration with colleagues is just not possible. We are pleased to say that it is. We have been working hard with a number of suppliers to come up with some ideas that mean you can get together and have fun at this important time of year.
Many people are still working from home (at least for some of the time) and you may not have been able to get together as a team for the last 7 months. Christmas is the ideal time to have a a review of the year, a planning meeting, or even a wellbeing meeting. Or why not celebrate the start of a new year, say goodbye to 2020! Business meetings for up to 30 are allowed in all areas of UK. We are all social beings, ideas spark when we are able to see each other and really talk. Why not plan a meeting in a venue that has trained onsite cleaners, has been welcoming guests safely for the last few months, and has chefs on site to provide you with a festive themed lunch and drinks? All of our clients that have recently used hotels and venues for accommodation and meetings have given excellent feedback; commenting on just how safe they felt and how well they were looked after.
If you prefer to keep things virtual, then there are so many exciting options. New types of virtual parties are being launched everyday and we will keep this page updated. We work with a number of highly professional team building companies that have developed innovative and exciting online activities. Each virtual party is hosted in a way that makes everyone feel included and important.
Here are just some of the virtual ideas our various partners have come up with:
- Murder mystery
- Christmas escape room
- Cocktail making, all the ingredients are delivered to delegates homes
- Wine tasting
- Virtual quiz/household scavenger hunt – Task the Master
- Rogue Agent
- Virtual horseracing
- Virtual entertainers; magician, comedian, live band
- Bombay Sapphire Gin tasting and quiz
- Festive Chefs
Of course you don’t have to pick just one of the above, you can easily go for a combination.
If you are going fully virtual, then it is nice to give such an event a “physical” element. Why not ask delegates to dress up, perhaps making a mask or hat in advance. Maybe send them a physical goodie bag……it could just be a Christmas Cracker and a small bottle of fizz (a fun addition that makes people smile). Or you could be more ambitious and send a food and drink hamper…so all the delegates are eating and drinking the same thing at the same time.
Using one of the many virtual platforms it is possible to put together your own party with rooms and time slots for different entertainers; you can also using the “networking” feature of your chosen platform to create rooms where people can go and chat. The ideas are endless and what you can achieve depends on your budget and numbers.
We have many suppliers and can offer a very wide range of activities so please speak to us. One of suppliers has created a website for specifically for HotelRes clients, where you can browse and even book your own virtual event. Wildgoose offer “online” experiences and these start from £12 per person with a £250 set up fee (both plus VAT). Follow this link: HotelRes Wildgoose Site
Just send us a quick email with your numbers, interests and budget and we can let you know what your options are.
